Mena Alexa Suvari was born on the 29th of September, 1979. She is an American fashion designer, model and actor. Soon after her first job as a model, she transitioned into acting after appearing in guest roles on 1990's television shows such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in 1997's drama film Nowhere. She made the transition to big roles through her appearances in American Beauty for which she was nominated for an BAFTA Award and American Pie each of which garnered the attention of the world. Her next appearance was in Loser (2000) which was a co-production with American Pie actor Jason Biggs. Then she appeared as the role of the title role on the screen in Sugar & Spice (2002). Spun the independent drama that aired in 2002, and the action film Trauma (2004), were the two films she has made her most recent appearances. Also, she starred in HBO drama Six Feet Under. The show was an instant hit in 2004, and in 2005, the Screen Actors' Guild honored her as one of the most outstanding stars. In 2008, Suvari appeared in various films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and as in the adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model in Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines like Vogue. Suvari is a committed advocate and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation.
