Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe hails from America and is a country-music singer/songwriter. The group she formed with Ashley Monroe named Pistol Annies, with Angaleena Presley and Miranda Lambert in 2007, and then released her 2nd album titled Like a Rose. Ashley Monroe has been in public service for more than fifteen years and has spent five of those years as a deputy city manager for Iowa City. In her role as the Assistant Village Director she is responsible for managing the Community Development and Building Department. The department is responsible for coordinating grants and completing special projects. Ashley assists in assisting with the village's services on a daily basis, as well as working with local elected officials. Her previous roles included city planning and government communications budgeting the management of personnel and collective bargaining as well as focusing on climate-related initiatives. Because of her involvement with national organizations and work in communities with populations ranging Ashley has gained an understanding of the complexities differences and similarities in how public organizations function. Ashley's course focuses on contemporary approaches to public management and leadership, from the perspective of an experienced professional. As well as providing an environment for both current as well as future leaders Ashley focuses on the necessity to adapting the current decisions based on ethics and strategic thinking in order to address the challenges ahead and make use of opportunities.
